ABOUT US

Coastal Carolina AYFL Inc, is a proud member of American Youth Football. CCAYFL is a family oriented league that pledges to strive to involve participants entire families in all events and activities we offer.

American Youth Football has surpassed Pop Warner and is now the nations largest youth football organization, with over 350,000 participants.

We are a youth football and cheer league located in Eastern North Carolina for kids ages 5-14, our policy is "No Child is Left Behind". This simply means that a child can no longer be turned away because of weight issues. We in CCAYFL have developed a program called Lineman Eligible. While all of our divisions of play have a weight limit, with the addition of the LE program, kids that are over the weight limit can still participate as offensive or defensive linemen. All kids now have the abiltiy to play the sport of football. The LE players are commonly referred to as "X" players, all of our LE players are readily identified because the have an orange "X" on the rear of their helmet. LE players cannot advance the ball at anytime, although they can recover the ball. Our officials closely monitor the LE rule of play to ensure its integrity. The program has had a 100% succession rate, since its inception in 2005. They have been no injuries due to a LE player being allowed to participate.

We also have a scholastic program in place that requires participants to maintain a minimum of 70% average in school. National AYF also recognizes youth scholars thru its All Star Academic Achievement program.

All players and cheerleaders are certified before the season starts to ensure compliance with local CCAYFL and National AYF rules and regulations.

SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001 ~ NEVER FORGET

Our minds are numb from the images: Three deliberate airplane attacks, buildings that symbolized our country's strength, prosperity, and defense suffer horrible explosions of machine against glass and steel, billows of flame and smoke, firemen, EMTs, and police rushing to help, the inevitable vertical collapse upon our rescue teams, the stars and stripes raised on the mountain of destruction. We lost family, friends, and neighbors.

For those of us that ever worked or lived in the World's Greatest City, the wound cut deeper.

If one can see all this without a broken heart, one doesn't have a heart.

There are some questions that must be answered. Why? How can we prevent this from happening again? For what reason did 19 give their lives to create this atrocity? Will the United States of America respond as always in times of great challanges?

Did I personally do enough to prevent this? Am I doing enough to help others?

Just a short time ago we thought we had no heroes. Our firemen, EMTs, and policemen paid the ultimate price. We see them daily and never think of what they may be called to do at a moment's notice. Former football players aboard high-jacked Flight 93 over Pennsylvania cell phoned their loved ones, voted on a plan, broke their huddle with the words "let's roll," and courageously defended us and our country. Once again in our history, Americans exemplify the inscription on The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier: "Uncommon Valor was a Common Virtue".

How will this affect our children? No human ever survived to adulthood without love, care, and guidance of others. Children look upon their parents as heroes. My father was an emotional man, yet he remained calm and determined when confusion surrounded our family. We as parents, coaches, and friends need to remain calm and determined. Let us all tell our children to thank God -- thank God we are not like our enemy. To our friends and allies around the world; "Let's Roll!" Our flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away.
